Manila, Philippines –The Philippines will be hosting one of the most highly awaited gambling expos later this year, in a move that cements the country’s position to be the top gaming destination in Asia.
The Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia will debut in the Philippines from December 3-4 at the Manila Marriot Hotel. The event is expected to host 100 exhibitors and will provide a wonderful opportunity for some of the world’s top casino officials to socialize and talk business.
“Pagcor continues to pursue its vision of becoming the top gaming destination in this part of the world. Having events such as the G2E Asia reflects the region’s exciting and upward growth in gaming and entertainment,” remarked Andrea Domingo, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor).
President Rodrigo Duterto told Domingo to expand the gambling industry and generate more funds for the government.
The total income from gaming operations, including online and traditional land-based casinos was recorded at P67.9 billion in 2018. This was 18.5% higher compared to the P57.3 billion recorded in 2017.
Pagcor posted 11.4% revenue growth from January to April 2019 as its gross earnings went up to P25.09 billion. This figure is P2.57 billion more compared to the P22.51 billion in revenues collected in the first quarter of 2018.
According to Domingo, the G2E will also function as a venue for Pagcor to share its experiences on responsible gaming, regulatory functions, casino operations, and proper accountability.
G2E Asia is organized by Reed Exhibitions Greater China.
“With this event, we are bringing new opportunities for growth and innovation to the Association of southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) emerging markets, including the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia gaming entertainment industry,” Josephine Lee, chief operating officer of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, said.
G2E has been held every year since 2007.
