iGaming developer Playtech has lauded yet another “significant milestone” after revealing a further North American expansion through a licensing agreement with International Game Technology (IGT).
Following hot on the heels of several agreements already revealed this month, including those with SKS365, Norsk Tipping and Swiss Casinos, the deal will have Playtech further enhancing its casino offerings across the region.
Under the agreement, Playtech can offer games in the United States that has features patented in IGT’s US patent portfolio.
“We are delighted to have reached an agreement to provide playtech with access to the largest game feature patented portfolio in the US. Working in partnership with Playtech will help propel our collective innovation and growth, and further validates our significant IP portfolio,” Nick Khin, chief operating officer at IGT, said.
The agreement marks a huge step in Playtech’s expansion efforts into North America after it was granted a license in New Jersey, and after going live with bet365 and across BetMGM’s gaming network early this year.
Playtech’s deal with IGT comes as the former outlines a vision of partnering with leading companies and expanding its scale to increase distribution capabilities across North America.
“The agreement with IGT represents another significant milestone in the growth of our presence in North America as we build on the momentum of the past few months. We look forward to offering the US market more of our market-leading software and technology in what is a rapidly growing US market,” Shimon Akad, Playtech chief operating officer, said.
