Canadian provincial lottery operator Loto-Québec decided to switch its focus online temporarily suspending its retail sales. This move was made in response to provincial government measures aimed at slowing down the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
The lottery operator will be ceasing ticket sales and also deactivate its sales terminals at retailers and in kiosks operated by non-profit organizations.
The Québec government has ordered the closure of a wide range of businesses and public spaces including cinemas, interior mall stores, bars, gyms, sample counters, and libraries.
Loto-Québec will contact 8,500 if its retailers and kiosks operators all over the province and inform them of the new measures. Meanwhile the operator will also communicate with other provinces with regards to activities for lotteries offered all over the nation.
