International Game Technology (IGT) just unveiled the launch of its cashless gaming technology at Svenska Spel locations all across Sweden.
Under the deal, IGT will merge intelligen systems with IGTPay technology, allowing customers playing on video lottery terminals (VLTs) to deposit funds using their mobile devices.
Svenska Spel recently unveiled IGT’s Intelligen VLT software and Quasar VLTs. Players are able to register and log into the machines and even fund their games using Swedish banking and BankID.
Players are also able to make withdrawals using IGTPay, with Svenska Spel refunding any available funds immediately back to the player’s bank account right after a withdrawal request is made.
“Launching IGT’s cashless product provides our players with reliable, cutting-edge cashless solution that connects directly with the Swedish mobile app, helping us drive efficiencies while responsibly advancing the player experience,” Magnus Lannersund, Svenska Spel’s director of VLT operations, said.
IGT has been providing VLT technology and similar services to Svenska Spel since 2006.
IGT vice president of systems and payments product Ryan Reddy commented on the deal saying, “As the relevance of cashless and contactless gaming innovations continues to grow, technologies such as IGT intelligen with IGTPay become critical components of the player experience, and solutions that can bring tremendous value to our global customers.”
Reddy added, “We have established a dedicated payments team to ensure that customers such as Svenska Spel are equipped with IGT solutions and services that deliver modern payment options that align with customer expectations and future business opportunities.
