Global Esports Federation (GEF) have revealed their plans to team up with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Under the deal, both parties will contribute towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Each party will provide specific expertise and focus to aid in the progress of four SDGs, aimed towards empowering the youth of the world, particularly; SDG 3: good health and well-being, SDG4: quality education, SDG 5: gender equality, and SDG 17: partnership for the goals.
The GEF and UNESCO both share a collective vision for a safe, healthy, and inclusive society where the youth are active agents of change. Both parties have agreed to work together in mobilizing resources and activating the world’s esports and sporting communities, creating pathways for ‘building back better’ as part of UNESCO’s “Fit for Life” campaign and the GEF’s #Elevate2030 initiative.
