The Great Britain Gambling Commission (GBGC) recently launched an investigation into M88 and Mansion Europe. Meanwhile, the Premier League club AFC Bournemouth has ended its sponsorship deal with M88.
A spokesperson for the Commission explained that although the operating licenses for each brand had not been cancelled, it was looking into the “various aspects” of each business’ “model and operations”.
Mansion Europe had a remote betting and casino license, which the Mansion Bet brand, Casino.com, and Slots Heaven were perated under.
On the other hand, Asia-based subsidiary M88 was previously traded in the UK under a different remote betting and casino license granted to Vivaro Entertainment. Vivaro Entertainment operates the Vbet brand, although the site is currently inactive.
AFC Bournemouth announced on May 29 that its sponsorship deal with M88 would soon end. M88 had been the club’s main shirt sponsor since the beginning of the 2017/2018 season.
“AFC Bournemouth would like to thank M88 for its support over the past three years,” the club said.
Another club with a commercial deal with Mansion Bet revealed that this deal would continue.
The Premier League is scheduled to resume operations on June 17, after the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) led to its suspension since mid-March.
