Esports Entertainment Group has recently signed a multi-year partnership with Twin River Worldwide Holdings. This partnership will see the former entering the New Jersey sports betting market.
The operator intends to launch a proprietary mobile app, which, when live, will allow consumers in the state to place bets on numerous sports events.
As of the moment, esports betting in New Jersey is only allowed by the state’s Division of Gaming Enforcement on a case-by-case basis. But in January this year, Assemblymember Ralph Caputo filed a bill that aims to ease these restrictions and allow sports betting to be offered together with traditional sports.
A637 passed the New Jersey Assembly in late July, and since then has progressed to the Senate, where it currently sits with the State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee.
This partnership and succeeding launch are based on Twin River securing the appropriate regulatory approvals to complete its acquisition of Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
