Epic Esports Events announce launch of Dota 2 Champions League series

Esports tournament organizer Epic Esports Events, in collaboration with GRID esports are happy to announce the first tournament of their new Dota 2 Championships League (D2CL) series.

With at least five events planned in the series, Dota 2 players and viewers can expect extensive content for Europe’s competitive scene.

GRID supports Epic Esports Events with data distribution of their events. GRID wants to make sure that their data is securely distributed, and they will also be using their data-driven content through visual additions to the broadcasts across Epic’s own Russian broadcast, as well as TEBTV’s English broadcast.

The first tournament will be conducted online. The group stage will take place from April 5 to 10, the finals are scheduled for April 11-12. The tournament has a total prize pool of $25,000.

Open qualifiers will be conducted from April 3-4 on FACEIT.

The first tournament will have 20 teams, 15 of which have already received direct invitations to the tournament. The remaining 5 slots will be chosen during the open qualifiers.
