Sports betting operator Entain’s online gambling brand Bwin has just signed extended partnerships with five German football teams, each of which will be running for three more seasons.
The new deals mean that Bwin will remain as the exclusive sports betting partner of Union Berlin, Cologne, St. Pauli, Borussia Dortmund, and Dynamo Dresden until the end of 2023/2024.
“We’d like to thank Bwin for placing their trust in us. We still believe that the two brands are an excellent match. Since we’re always interested in long-term partnerships, it’s only logical to continue our existing collaboration,” Carsten Cramer, Borussia Dortmund managing director, said.
“We’re delighted to have Bwin as a powerful brand at our side as a betting partner for the next three years,” Alexander Wehrle, FC Cologne managing director, also noted.
“Working together, we’ve already developed exciting features for our fans such as FC Cologne Matchday Tip and betting odds integration on our platforms, and will continue on this successful path together,” he added.
According to Entain, the renewed sponsorship agreement marks an “ambition for its global brands to be part of a great sporting experiences enjoyed by customers”.
Apart from its German club sponsorships, Bwin was names as the ‘Official Sports Betting Partner of the DFB German Football League’ in 2019.
Under this, Bwin was given an advertising partnership with the DFB Cup, and also advertising rights for the national teams until December 31, 2022 and for the Women’s Bundesliga and 3. Liga until the summer of 2022.
