Emirates Loto, which was launched around three months ago, recently halted its operations in order to perform several upgrades to its platform.
The Loto is expected to resume operations for Q4 2020. It promises to come back “with a fun and exciting player experience.”
Emirates Loto was considered as the first fatwa-approved digital lottery launched in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It staged its opening draw in April this year, with its first jackpot winner taking home a total of AED 350,000 (US $ 95,303).
The lottery was planning to run a live weekly draw, with the first initially scheduled for March 28. But the draw was postponed until April in compliance with government initiatives to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
Besides the chance to win hug prizes, Emirates Loto is also committed to raising funds for UAE government initiatives that support social and community projects.
The Loto’s website and mobile app will remain unavailable to customers until operations resume. Players who purchased tickets for future draws before the pause in operations can have the ticket price refunded.
