Switzerland –Casino du Lac in Meyrin, owned by the Partouche Group, is the latest land-based casino in the country to launch an online gambling offering.
The Pasino.ch website went live on November 16 and offers players access to numerous slot and casino-style table games.
Pasino.ch will be operating under Casino du Lac’s online gambling license, which it obtained from the Switzerland National Council (Bundersrat) in April, after the permit was endorsed by the Eidgenössische Spielbankenkommission (ESBK), the country’s federal gambling regulator.
Casino du Lac partnered with Evolution to power its online casino in January. This will allow users to play across mobile, tablet, and desktop. This agreement included Evolution providing live dealer roulette, poker, and baccarat.
The latest launch follows after Casino Austria International’s Grand Casino Bern in Kursaal also launched a new online gambling site in September.
Legal iGaming launched in the country in July 2019. The ESBK revealed that in July ths year, licensed operators generated around CHF 23.5 million ($25.8 million) in revenue within the first six months of the market opening.
Revenue for land-based casinos reached CHF 742.5 million in 2019, of which category A licensees—larger venues in urban areas—made up about CHF 449.0 million.
The ESBK added another 36 sites to its blacklist of unlicensed gambling websites last month.
