Boyd Gaming recently relaunched its Stardust brand as a free-to-play gaming product for the second time. It is now available live for iOS and Android devices.
The app features a number of slot titles similar to the ones available on the gaming floor at Boyd’s land-based casinos. When you play on the app, you are entitled to rewards and benefits at these properties.
Players earn points and tier credits within the operator’s B Connected loyalty program, which is redeemable at the physical venues.
The Stardust Social Casino is named after the Las Vegas venue with the same name, which was considered Nevada’s largest casino. It opened in 1958, closed in 2006, and was imploded a year later.
The casino is considered as one of the most iconic brands in the history of Las Vegas. It hosted several popular attractions during its lifespan, including the Le Lido de Paris burlesque show. It was also the first venue to feature Siegfried and Roy and is said to be the inspiration for Martine Scorsese’s gangster film Casino.
“Stardust is a name that clearly resonates with gaming customers across all generations,” Keith Smith, Boyd Gaming president and chief executive, said. “Given its considerable brand equity, we believe that the Stardust name will give Boyd Gaming a unique advantage as we further expand our online and mobile gaming presence,” he added.
